The One.

All those years ago a precious baby was born.

One that was born to royalty without the wealth.

One that would wear a crown without any jewels.

One that would sacrifice himself to save us all.

One so full of love no one understood.

One so full of compassion others couldn’t comprehend.

And of all the names he has, Prince of Peace is the one I cling to the most.

Prince of Peace.

The gift of peace is far greater than any material gift you could ever receive.

It is the peace that has gotten us through every trial we have faced.

It is the peace that has sheltered us in the midst of the storms.

It is the peace that has carried us when we were too weak to walk.

It is the peace that has empowered us to never give up in the battle.

It is the peace that has rested upon us when fear tried to creep in.

Peace.

The Prince of peace was born this day.

We have not one single photo of our family together today. Not one.

We didn’t all have our cute matching pj’s.

And we didn’t have a perfectly placed shot all together in front of the tree.

But what we did have, was each other.

After last year, our family is acutely aware of how it feels to be separated on a day like today.

So on this Christmas I thought I would share something different.

Here is a picture of our tree.

Let the darkness around it bring calm to your spirit.

Let the light from each bulb bring you hope in tomorrow.

Let each present underneath be a reminder of the gift of peace that Jesus has to offer you.

Whether you got to celebrate all together with your loved ones today, or if you are walking through the pain of being apart, let peace rest upon you this night.

Let the hope of tomorrow fill your hearts.

And let the noise of world fade into the darkness.

To all our friends near and far, Merry Christmas. May you all receive the precious gift of peace this season.

Shields up.

Swords out.

Love,

Kristin

Shepherds quake at the sight

Glories stream from heaven afar

Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia

Christ the Savior is born”
