The joy of giving.

Giving Joy Challenge Day 1.
What is the best thing to do when we feel down and empty? Bless someone else.
Why? Because when you pour love and joy into someone else's life, you actually get filled up too.
They say laughter is the best medicine, but I'm not sure. I think giving is.
Something transforms in your heart and soul when you give to someone else.
After yesterday's disappointing news, I needed a heart and soul transformation.
So today, with our calendar now completely cleared of what was planned, we went and spread some light to our community.
We took donuts from our favorite little shop to five different places. We started with some teachers, some fire fighters, some police officers, and the city offices. Then, Grandpa Ron and Cooper finished up strong with the human resources staff at the food pantry.
Each time we got to thank them for everything they do to serve, protect, and love our community. It lightened and transformed our hearts.
You see, the darkness tries to overtake the light and joy of the world. When that happens, we have a choice. Let the darkness prevail, or take a stand to see, and be, the light in every circumstance or situation.
So while we are patiently waiting, we will choose to see the light. We will choose to be the light.
Anyone want to join us for a giving challenge?
10 days of doing something to bless 5 people or places.
Think of how we could impact the world around us if we all joined together. How many lives could be lifted in just ten days? Buy a coffee, send an encouraging message, give someone a compliment, leave an extra tip...
And who knows, maybe by the end of 10 days Brady's platelets will be over 50...
"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."
