Battling together.

“At the end of the day people won't remember what you said or did, they will remember how you made them feel.”
- Maya Angelou
Yesterday, while Brady, Cooper and I were at the Pride SC blood drive, Chris, Blake, Aubrey and Grandpa Martin were across town delivering Battle Pups to a special group of warriors.
A special team that just a week ago lost one of their friends and teammates.
They got the opportunity to share our journey, give them battle pups, and pray for them.
I’m certain in those situations most of those kids will never remember the words that were spoken or anything that was said, but our hope and prayer, is that they never forget that they are loved. That their pain is seen. And that they don’t have to battle alone.
Today, we got this photo.
A group of girls from the team out for their cool down after their regional race.
But when you see it up close, well, it moves us to tears.
Tucked in with them our their battle pups.
Running together. Battling together.
Life is hard. But we don’t have to do it alone.
To all the brave Lions that make up the Minerva cross country team, thank you for allowing us to come alongside you in your battle.
We don’t run, but tomorrow we will. Tomorrow we will run for Owen.
No one needs to battle alone.
No one.
Shields up.
Swords out.
With you in the battle,
The Martins and the Way To Battle family

Thank you to everyone who continues to generously donate to our nonprofit. Your support allows us to be there in times of grief and loss for kids and students when they need it the most.
If you know of someone, anyone, that is going through something hard, let them know they aren’t alone in their battle. Let them know they are seen and they are loved. Nominate them to receive a Battle Pup through our website, www.waytobattle.com.
People may not remember what was said or who sent what, but hopefully they never forget that they aren’t alone in their battle.
